Well, since I haven’t posted in eight months, this has been coming, but, I am making it official. After ten years, this blog is coming to an end.

There are a few reasons. The pandemic obviously slowed travel. And I never had it in my heart to even finish blogging my pre-pandemic February 2020 Japan trip. My blog underwent scrutiny for a professional matter and while that was ridiculous, I don’t particularly find it worth the hassle. Given how little my readership is, my zero income, and the costs of paying for the site’s operation, the net positives are low. But most importantly, I just finished a 12-day vacation–my first week off since the pandemic– and not taking notes and documenting experiences made it incredibly more relaxing and enjoyable. Writing about trips has had positives for sure, and I am going to try and find a way to backup past posts so I can have them to look back on. I intend to keep paying monthly hosting fees for the next few months at least, but then expect this site to simply disappear.

For those who have stuck with me these years, thanks and I hope you enjoyed.

    It’s an announcement both expected and feared. When you ceased enjoying the effort of writing, it is a good time to stop this and move on.
